We created CredReady because we knew the power of Pathways Analytics was needed in the hands of individuals and employers.
Pathway Analytics was developed as research sponsored by several states including Texas, New York, and North Carolina. The objective was to determine if the billions of records of course taking, degree granting, employment, and occupational information collected by states could be analyzed to help connect individuals to their educational and career goals. To do this, we had to invent new analytical techniques because traditional time series analysis could not detect the patterns that we knew were there.
The results were fascinating. We could measure the actual achievement rates from essentially any situation to any goal based on the series of experiences an individual had so far. This was great, but, even better, we could identify specific future education and experiences that had led to increased achievement. Not only could we inform an individual about their relative readiness, but we could show them actions that may increase it. It was an amazing eye-opener.
Our work was (and continues to be) used to inform policy decisions such as the availability of educational experiences within a state and recommendation of new opportunities for individuals in a shrinking sector of an economy to move to one that is growing. …All of these things are valuable, but we knew this information could be much more valuable if delivered specifically to the needs of each individual and each employer. With that specificity, decisions would be made directly by the people impacted and the overall effect would be much greater.
So, here we are with CredReady, providing an unprecedented level of transparency to the talent, education, and career marketplace and empowering individuals to achieve the goals they have for their lives.
